ABC, CBS, CNN, AP, and BBC Deceptively Edit Tyre Nichols Videos to Not Show Him Fighting or Running from Police
Reporters edit out officers' comments that Nichols was "high as a kite"
Multiple news organizations released deceptively edited videos of the Tyre Nichols arrest in Memphis. ABC, CBS, CNN, AP, BBC and others selectively edited video to show police hitting Nichols but edited out footage of Nichols fighting police and running from them.
Memphis police released an hour of footage but most news organizations edited the video down to less than two minutes
In its news report, CNN cut away from the bodycam footage when it got to the part where Nichols broke free of officers and got up and ran away.
ABC News’s David Muir showed Nichols being pulled from his car and calling for his mother—but not the parts in which he fights officers and runs away.
CBS News never mentioned in its reporting that Nichols fought officers and broke away and ran from them.
Press outlets also did not show video in which officers said Nichols was “high as a kite.” Nor did the media include video in which officers said Nichols drove into oncoming traffic and swerved at their car at the start of the incident.

This is part of a pattern of sensationalized race-baiting by the media I discuss in my forthcoming book, “Special Victim Status: The Era of Woke Journalism.”
